"This experience was created to offer visitors a deeper connection with the cultural soul of Marrakech, beyond the usual sightseeing tours. While many travelers visit the monuments and markets, few have the opportunity to truly engage with the traditional arts and crafts that form an essential part of Moroccan heritage. Through the Tazwaqt workshop, guests discover an ancestral decorative art and experience the creativity of local artisans. Combined with visits to historic landmarks such as Ben Youssef Madrasa and the lively atmosphere of Jemaa el-Fna, this journey allows travelers to understand the cultural traditions, craftsmanship, and daily life that make Marrakech unique. The goal of this experience is not only to show the city, but to help visitors feel, create, and connect with the authentic spirit of Marrakech."
Medina Artistic & Cultural Experience – Marrakech
Discover the soul of Marrakech
Spend an immersive day exploring the artistic traditions, historical treasures, and lively atmosphere of the old city. This experience combines creativity, culture, and authentic local encounters in the heart of the medina.
Your journey begins with a hands-on artistic workshop where you will discover the beautiful Moroccan craft known as Tazwaqt. After the workshop, continue exploring the historical and cultural landmarks of the medina, including a visit to the magnificent Ben Youssef Madrasa, one of the most impressive monuments of Marrakech. Wander through the maze of traditional souks, admire artisan work, and experience the vibrant rhythm of local life before finishing the tour at the legendary Jemaa el‑Fna, the beating heart of the city.
An optional rooftop lunch allows you to enjoy authentic Moroccan cuisine while admiring panoramic views over the red roofs and minarets of the Medina.
What is the Tazwaqt Workshop?
Tazwaqt is a traditional Moroccan decorative art practiced mainly in the Atlas Mountains and southern regions of Morocco. It is the art of hand-painting geometric and symbolic patterns on wood, often used to decorate doors, ceilings, furniture, and traditional chests.
During the workshop, participants are introduced to this ancestral craft by a local artisan. You will learn about:
The meaning of traditional Berber geometric motifs
The natural pigments and colors traditionally used
The techniques of painting on carved wood
Each participant will create and paint their own small wooden piece using traditional patterns and colors. This hands-on activity is a wonderful way to connect with Moroccan culture and take home a unique handmade souvenir created by yourself

"5 days of absolute adventure through the Berber villages in the heart of the atlas mountains. During this tour you will have the chance to experience the quotidian way of life of the Berbers and live with them and share their landscapes, food and traditions. An escape for the city life in Marrakech to the simple life of the Berbers of the mountains. Our local mountains guide will make sure that you get the experience of the lifetime."

"During your stay, you'll have plenty of opportunities to taste delicious tagines and the famous Moroccan couscous. But what we offer here is a culinary experience off the beaten path, discovering the street food so beloved by Moroccans, in the lively alleyways of the medina!"

"Please feel free to choose a place in the desert with private meals for couples, families or groups. This will include all the transportation at your hotel or your riad, a day at the plats and a large water bottle. You want to choose from your household furniture or sous vide a protective tent."
